Q1. Where can we find a summary of what Christians believe?

A. We can find this in the Apostle’s Creed.

Q2. What do Christians confess in this creed?

A. The words of the Apostles creed are these:

I Believe in God the Father, Almighty,

Maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, our Lord;

Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary;

Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead, and buried,

He descended into hell;

The third day He rose again from the dead;

He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

From there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit.

I believe a holy catholic Church,

the communion of saints

The forgiveness of sins;

The resurrection of the body;

And the life everlasting.

All that is contained in the gospel and summarized for us in the Apostles' Creed. (John 20:31; Revelation 22:18, 19)

Q2. What do the articles of this creed declare to us?

They declare to us God the Father and our creation, God the Son and our redemption, and God the Holy Spirit and our sanctification.

Because God has so revealed himself that these three distinct persons are the one, true and eternal God.

Q4. How has God assured you that He will be your God?

By the baptism which I received from him, in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)
