Grades 9-12:

1. What is the duty of the church living in the world?

The church has been called to preach and teach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Matt. 28:18-20)

2. Why is preaching necessary to salvation?

Paul answers this by saying: “How shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Rom. 10:14)

3. What is the aim of teaching?

By teaching the church instructs people “to observe all things whatsoever Christ has commanded.” (Matthew 28:19)

4. What does the Bible require of all who hear the gospel?

The Bible commands that they:

  1. repent of their sins,

  2. believe in Christ as Savior and Lord, and

  3. live a life obedient to God’s will. (Acts 2:38; Colossians 2:6, 7)

5. Why does the church have classes for its baptized children and young people?

By these classes the church teaches them the meaning of their baptism, in order that they may:

  1. confess Christ before men,

  2. join believingly in the work and worship of the church, and

  3. show in daily living that they belong to the Savior. (Philippians 1:27)
